Sponsorship Opportunities – The Gap Creative Art Spark Youth Awards 2026
The Gap Creative was formed in 2020 to support, enrich and share the creative heart of our suburb. The Group now has more than 50 members who are creatives in all types of fields including photography, ceramics, painting, drawing, sculpture, miniatures, music, and much more. Our key goals are to facilitate creative experiences for the local community, foster connections between The Gap Creative and local community/businesses and support local artists to promote and sell their work. With the introduction of the Art Spark Awards last year, we are working to support and nurture creativity in the youth of our community encouraging engagement with art to celebrate the imaginative worlds of the next generation of artists.
The Art Spark Youth Awards
Across the months of April and May, The Art Spark Youth Awards will open its second competition to entries from the young people of The Gap through local art studios and The Gap State High School. The entered artworks are judged by a renowned local artist external of The Gap Creative as well as engaging the community in a people’s choice award with all works displayed at our The Gap Creative signature gallery event the Winter Solstice art exhibition at The Gap State High School Tula Gallery held between Friday 19 June to Sunday 21 June.
The exhibition gives the youth entrants the opportunity to showcase alongside local artists from The Gap Creative that exhibit everything from photography and textiles to painting, jewelry, miniatures, prints and much more. Youth art entries are not available for purchase, but are open for viewing across the weekend alongside a range of art and live music events.
Last year the inaugural competition attracted more than 130 entries across the two age categories with all artworks displayed and finalists showcased in a dedicated gallery space. The local community came out in support of the event with much enthusiasm around the Art Spark Awards from both entrants and patrons, all of whom were able to engage with the people’s choice voting.
